N-Sight Firearms Training offers 3 different approved Illinois Concealed Carry courses.

Each course is tailored to fit the needs of each individual student depending on their prior (State approved) training credits. Whether you need 8, or 16 hours to obtain your CCW License we have a class for you.

All classroom subject matter will be taught at the Mt. Vernon Outland Airport (main building) in Mt. Vernon, IL. Our Range (with heated shooters shack) is located just a short 10 minute drive away at our private range. This is where all weapons handling, live fire, and qualification will take place.

Course times are 8am – 5pm (Unless Otherwise Noted)

Please arrive early to settle in.

NO LIVE AMMUNITION IN CLASSROOM

 

Course Cost:

8 hour course: $100

12 HOUR COURSE: $125

16 hour course: $150

 

Items you will need:

  1. valid f.o.i.d card or application

  2. EYE AND EAR PROTECTION

  3. HANDGUN OF CHOICE ( YOU WILL RECEIVE TWO CHANCES TO QUALIFY) PLEASE CHOOSE WISELY

  4. BELT HOLSTER FOR HANDGUN OF CHOICE

  5. MINIMUM 50 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION, WE SUGGEST 100 ROUNDS.

  6. PROPER CLOTHING. DRESS APPROPRIATE FOR WEATHER AND “OUTDOOR” CONDITIONS. (NO LOW CUT SHIRTS, HIGH HEELS, OR FLIP FLOPS.)

  7. 1 PENCIL, 1 PEN, AND 1 NOTEPAD.

 

4.) All applicable State and Federal laws relating to the ownership, storage, carry, and transportation of a firearm;

  1. The act in its entirety

    1. With emphasis on 430 ILCS 66/10(h) which includes instruction on the appropriate and lawful interaction with law enforcement while transporting or carrying a concealed firearm.

    2. With emphasis on 430 ILCS 66/65 which includes instruction on prohibited areas and the parking lot exception.

  2. The FOID Act 430 ILCS 65/1 et. seq.

  3. Relevant portions of the ILCS including but not limited to

    1. 720 ILCS 5/7-1. Use of force in defense of a person

    2. 720 ILCS 5/7-2. Use of force in defense of dwelling

    3. 720 ILCS 5/7-3. Use of force in defense of other property

5.) Weapon Handling; Minimum;

  1. Dry Fire Practice Drills, Handgun Fundamentals

  2. Dry Fire Practice Drills from concealment

  3. Live Fire Practice Drills, Handgun Fundamentals

  4. Live Fire Qualification with a concealable firearm consisting of minimum of 30 rounds which must include:

    1. 10 rounds from a distance of 5 yards

    2. 10 rounds from a distance of 7 yards

    3. 10 rounds from a distance of 10 yards

    4. Target will be a B-27 silhouette which has been approved by the Illinois State Police

  3. Vehicle Storage

  4. Public Storage

2.) Basic Principles of Marksmanship;

  1. Stance

  2. Grip

  3. Sight Alignment

  4. Sight Picture

  5. Trigger Control

3.) Care, Cleaning, Loading, and Unloading of a concealable Firearm;

  1. Gun Identification: revolver, semi-automatic, etc.

  2. Ammunition Identification and Selection

  3. Safety and Cleaning Protocols

  4. Loading and Unloading
